Step 1 - Customer Selection

Every job must be associated with a customer record in your system. This step ensures proper attribution and billing.

Interface Overview

The step displays:

Search bar: Filter customers by name, email, or phone

Customer list: Scrollable list of all customers in your organization

Quick Add Prospect (Quote mode only): Add temporary prospect details

Selecting a Customer

Use the search bar to find customers quickly

Click on a customer card to select them

The card highlights with a blue ring when selected

If the customer has contacts, you'll be prompted to select one

Customer Card Information

Each customer card displays:

Customer name (primary identifier)

Customer type badge (color-coded by category)

- Bars & Restaurants (amber)

- Hotels & Lodging (blue)

- Construction (orange)

- Events & Festivals (purple)

- Government/Municipal (red)

- Healthcare/Medical (emerald)

- Commercial (slate)

Phone number (if available)

Contact Selection

After selecting a customer:

If the customer has saved contacts, a contact selection screen appears

Each contact shows:

- Name and title

- Contact type (Site Contact, Billing, Primary, etc.)

- Phone and email

- "Primary" badge for default contacts

Click a contact to select, or choose "Continue without Contact"

Quick Add Prospect (Quote Mode Only)

When creating quotes, you can add a temporary prospect:

Click "Quick Add Prospect" card (blue highlight)

Enter prospect details in the modal:

- Name (required)

- Phone

- Email

- Notes

Click Save to add the prospect

Prospects are not saved to your customer list

Changing Selection

Change Customer: Click the "Change" or "Change Customer" button

Clear Prospect: Click "Change" on the prospect card

Skip Contact: Click "Skip Contact Selection" to proceed without

Validation

A customer or prospect must be selected to proceed

The wizard will not advance until this requirement is met

Best Practices

Create customers in the Customers section before creating jobs

Use contacts to ensure the right person is notified for each job

Use prospects for quick quotes to new leads
