Use camera-based scanning to quickly find units by QR codes or read embossed tool numbers using optical character recognition.

QR Code Scanning

Purpose: Quickly find units by scanning barcodes/QR codes

How to Use:

Click the QR Scan button in the toolbar

Allow camera access when prompted

Point camera at the QR code or barcode

System automatically searches for matching unit

What Happens:

If found: Opens unit detail page

If not found: Prompts to add as new unit

OCR (Optical Character Recognition)

Purpose: Read embossed tool numbers from unit doors using camera

How to Use:

Click the Camera Search (OCR) button

Point camera at the embossed text on unit

System reads and interprets:

- Tool numbers

- Vendor IDs

- Plastic codes

- Manufacturing dates

- Mold cavity details

Best Practices:

Ensure good lighting

Hold camera steady

Clean text surface if dirty

Capture full number in frame
