The driver you needed applied on Tuesday. Nobody saw it until Friday.

Applications arrive wherever the ad ran. Hiring puts them in one place, next to the team they're joining.

Where applications land

The old wayThe Indeed inbox, Facebook messages, and a pile of paper by the phone.
In PortaProOne board, every applicant in a stage you named, marked new until someone opens it.

The CDL questions

The old wayA generic form, then a phone call to ask about the license.
In PortaProLicense class, endorsements, the medical card, violations, and a 3-year work history on the application.

Staying in touch

The old wayWhoever took the call remembers, or doesn't.
In PortaProMessages from the candidate's card, emailed to them and answered on their own application page.

The interview

The old wayA text with a time you hope they remember.
In PortaProIn person, phone, or video with a guest link, and the details emailed from the card.

Day one

The old waySomeone types the new driver into the software and texts them a login.
In PortaProHire sends your welcome email, then their invitation, and their CDL details are already on their driver record.

An application a driver finishes on a phone.

Driver openings ask what a trucking application asks: license class and endorsements, years driving commercially, the DOT medical card, violations and accidents in the last three years, and every job from the last three years, ten for CDL driving jobs. Add up to five questions of your own.

It never asks for a Social Security number, a date of birth, or a license number. Each applicant gets a private link to see where things stand, reply to you, and send a résumé, with no login.

Promote

Post it everywhere drivers look. See which one worked.

Each job site gets a posting shaped for its own form, ending in its own tracked link: the role alone for Indeed and ZipRecruiter, the pay in the title for Craigslist, a short post for Facebook and LinkedIn. Tick Posted as each one goes up, and PortaPro reminds you where to take them down when the opening closes.

  • Came from on every applicant
  • Google for Jobs structured data
  • A QR flyer for the truck stop

From yes to their first route.

Hire uses the same invitation Team Management sends, so the new driver lands in the app like everyone else.

  1. Your welcome email goes first.

Pick the role and the start date, add your phone number and what to bring, and preview exactly what they'll read.
  2. Their PortaPro invitation arrives.

It reads like a person sent it, and it can never land before the welcome. If the welcome email doesn't send, the invitation waits until you retry or send it anyway.
  3. Their CDL details are already there.

License state, class, endorsements, and the medical card expiration from the application fill in their Driver Details. Nothing you entered is overwritten.

Questions operators ask

Does PortaPro post my openings to Indeed or ZipRecruiter?

Not automatically. Promote gives you a posting shaped for each site, ending in that site's own tracked link, and you paste it in. Applicants who follow the link land in Hiring on their own. Anyone who uses Indeed's own Apply button stays in your Indeed account, and you add them with Add candidate. Every listed opening also carries the structured data Google for Jobs reads, and PortaPro publishes a job feed that job sites can pick up.

Which plan includes Hiring, and does a new hire cost a seat?

Hiring is on the Growth plan. Every PortaPro plan includes unlimited users, so the login a new hire gets doesn't add a seat.

Who on my team can see applications?

Owners and admins. Dispatchers only after an admin turns on Let dispatchers use Hiring, because applications include driving history, and a dispatcher can hire into the Driver role only. Drivers, mechanics and customers never see Hiring.

Does the application ask for a Social Security number?

No. It never asks for a Social Security number, date of birth, or driver's license number. It's an application built for CDL hiring, not a full driver qualification file; collect the rest at hire, the way you do today.

Is it only for drivers?

No. Helpers, yard staff, mechanics and office roles use the same careers page, board and Hire button. The driving questions appear on driver openings, or on a general application when the person says they want to drive.
